Jensen Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Martin County, Florida and is part of the Port Saint Lucie, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has a population of 11,707 on 7.2 square miles of land. It was founded as a pineapple plantation in 1881 by an immigrant from Denmark named John Laurence Jensen. By 1895 it had become known as the “Pineapple Capital of the World”.
